Weducon Filter/Fan series for optimal airflow and power
Every web- and sheet cleaning device requires the flow and power of a matching filter/fan unit. The filter/fan unit generates the airflow and pressure matching the need for its application.
Compact filter/fan units
Weducon offers a compact range of filter/fan units that perform excellently up to web widths ranges as listed below:
- The AFS-210: up to web widths of 1.500 mm.
- The AFS-315: up to web widths of 2.200 mm.
- The AFS-420: up to web widths of 3.200 mm.
Large volume filter/fan units
Wider webs demand higher air volumes. For these applications, we offer an industrial line of filter/fan units. The increase in size enables the filter/fan units to deliver a substantially larger volume of air combined with meeting the need for a stronger pressure.
The industrial line comes as a standard in four sizes:
- The AFI-680: up to web widths of 4.000 mm.
- The AFI-840: up to web widths of 5.500 mm.
- The AFI-1260: up to web widths of 8.000 mm.
- The AFI-1680: up to web widths of 10.000 mm.
Larger web widths or multi-cleaner installations use a combination of standard components.
Weducon also produces custom web cleaning systems. Larger volumes, higher pressures or distinctive designs of these systems can be made in order to meet the requirements of the available floor space. Limits exist due to ’laws of nature’ (technical) or economic boundaries.

Adjusting connections to meet the demands of airflow and pressure
The connection between the web- or sheet cleaning device and the selected filter/fan unit for the application is created by using laser-welded ducting and matching flexibles. The diameter of the ducting depends on the airflow that is needed for the application.
Flexible hoses need to be as short as possible; the flow through the flexibles is not linear. So, turbulences and bends generate additional resistance and in turn to additional energy consumption.
Every component in this chain is selected based on performance, safety, energy consumption and the level of heat and noise that is generated.
